Why, you might even say that the future of our whole country rests right in the hands of us teen-age girls.

It is most damaging for a girl to have the reputation of being bold. Boys like girls who are friendly, but not bold, contrary to the impressions they give when in their joking ways they tell how happy they would be if popular blonde So-and-so were to pursue them. The truth is that boys do not feel at ease with girls who are too aggressive. Probably this is due to years and years of established custom which have made it otherwise.

It is permissible to call a boy on the telephone only �on business.� A girl should never call a boy strictly to chat. And even when she needs to call him on business, if there is any possibility that her purpose be misunderstood, she should ask someone else to make the call for her.

If a boy lives at home, a girl should be especially careful about calling him even on business, for boys� mothers are given to speaking in unpleasant terms about girls who brazenly call their sons on the telephone. If a girl is eager for a boy to like her, she should try to make his parents fond of her, too. There is no better investment.
